The Amazon rainforest is one of the most biodiverse places on Earth, but it faces serious threats. Write an essay about the Amazon rainforest. What makes it so important to global ecology? What species depend on it? What are the main threats to the rainforest, and what efforts are being made to protect it? Use at least two of the provided sources to support your discussion.
